POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Educational Talent Search manages the daily operations of 麻豆原创 at Shreveport’s (SUSLA) TRIO Educational Talent Search Program. The Program Director leads the coordination and presentation of strengths-based programming for participants. The Program Director coordinates evaluation of the Educational Talent Search Program, monitors participant involvement in the program, documents all programmatic components, and tracks all budget expenditures in compliance with Federal U.S. Department of Education. The Program Director ensures integration amongst SUSLA’s Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (SA&EM) and Educational Talent Search in pursuit of support services to encourage program participants to utilize campus resources and services to the fullest.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership for the Educational Talent Search daily operations to ensure participants are engaged with provided services and that services offered are effective at meeting participant needs as well as achieving SUSLA’s SA&EM goals and outcomes for the office.
- Interpret policies and procedures under Education General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for program and budget compliance.
- Integrate strengths-based approach into all aspects of the Educational Talent Search Program; identify and organize participation in cultural events and programs in surrounding Parishes.
- Oversee submission of required compliance reporting to the Department of Education APR and BLUMEN including student participation and budget expenditure, ensuring all reporting deadlines and requirements are met.
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs on related projects and fully participates in the Educational Talent Search Program grant renewal.
- Develop relationships with other student support offices on campus to understand opportunities for partnerships and increased service to Educational Talent Search participants.
- Directly supervise staff members within the program, providing robust feedback, goal setting, and communication.
- Fully understand and comply with all TRiO policies and regulations. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws with an ability to manage business functions
- Develops goals and objectives for program. Develop schedules, activities, services, and priorities for achieving goals of the Educational Talent Search Program
- Communicate with University departments, personnel, and other agencies
- Create and execute regular assessments of identified program components.
- Create and implements plans to orient participants to program requirements
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
Master’s Degree Required in counseling, education, student services or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
PREFERRED:
- Minimum three years of professional experience in managing educational support programs, programs focused on postsecondary placement, or programs working with diverse populations, especially pre-college youth
- Experience in grant writing and budget management
- Background representative of population to be served (TRiO/low-income and/or first-generation college student) highly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of project management for an outcomes-driven program, including program design, implementation, strategic planning, and evaluation
- Significant awareness of cognitive and non-cognitive factors influencing student persistence
- Sensitivity to diverse groups with respect to race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status
- Knowledge and understanding of college admissions and financial aid processes
- Excellent skills in communication, fiscal management, and student advocacy
COMPENSATION: Salary Range is $48,000
