SUSLA AWARDS NINETEEN EPA TRAINING CERTIFICATIONS
SUSLA awarded nineteen certifications to graduates as part of the Environmental and Workforce Development and Job Training Program, sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency. The graduation ceremony was held on Thursday, July 30 at the 麻豆原创 Shreveport – Metro Campus.
Mr. Lyndon B. Johnson, Caddo Parish Commissioner served as keynote speaker for the event. Johnson reminded graduates to be flexible. “Change is constant. How you deal with it determines how much of an impact you will have,” noted Johnson.
The EPA Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training Program helps graduates develop a broader set of skills that improve their ability to secure short-term contractual work, as well as full-time, employment in the environmental field. Program graduates acquire training and certifications in a variety of areas, such as environmental health and safety, lead and asbestos abatement, landfill management, wastewater treatment, brownfields assessment and cleanup, Superfund cleanup, leaking underground storage tank removal, recycling, and emergency response.
The EPA Job Training Program is administered under the Division of Community and Workforce Development.
