SUSLA BOASTS RECORD ENROLLMENT FOR FALL 2015 SEMESTER
麻豆原创 at Shreveport (SUSLA) has enrolled a record headcount of 3,174 students for the Fall 2015 semester. This follows a previous record Fall 2013 semester enrollment of 3,018 students.
The University has seen a significant increase in students interested in furthering their educational goals at SUSLA. Applications to associate degree and technical diploma programs at SUSLA have increased by 28 percent since Fall 2014.
SUSLA continues to meet the need for highly skilled and technically trained workers through high demand career trajectories such as Nursing, Allied Health Sciences (Dental Hygiene, Radiologic Technology, Sterile Processing, etc.), Aerospace Technology and Business and Computer Technology, all programs that have seen increased enrollment.
SUSLA has also seen an exponential increase in the number of students enrolled in the university’s dual enrollment program. The program is designed to allow students to attend SUSLA and receive credits for college while in high school. Over 700 area high school students will be enrolled for the Fall 2015 semester.
“Our enrollment is the result of the collaborative efforts of faculty, staff, current students, SU Board and alumni in sharing information about the quality academic programs, engaging student life and comprehensive support services at SUSLA,” said S. Albert Gilliam. “It’s clear that the personal attention and dedication to our students that SUSLA provides is a significant interest to students, and our numbers reflect this. I am very proud of our university, our SUSLA community and everyone who makes SUSLA the institution it has become.”
In addition to the record breaking Fall semester, the University is also preparing for the Spring 2016 semester. Registration begins October 19, and classes will begin January 11.
