SUSLA receives generous donation from AT&T Louisiana
麻豆原创 at Shreveport Louisiana (SUSLA), Division of Community & Workforce Development is the recipient of a donation in the amount of $1,500 from AT&T Louisiana to support students enrolled in the University’s Adult Education Program. The award was presented at the office of State Senator, Gregory Tarver, by David Aubrey, AT&T State Director of External Affairs.
Since the Adult Education Program’s inception in 2004, SUSLA has provided superior instruction to individuals aged sixteen (16) and over with the goal of helping them to earn their high school equivalency diploma.
The funds donated by AT&T will help pay for testing fees for students to take the mandatory online High School Equivalency Test (HiSET); purchase bus passes for the economically disadvantaged students who cannot afford transportation to and from class; and will enable staff to secure appropriate training and certifications that helps students find livable wage jobs leading to demand career pathways.
“We are deeply appreciative to Mr. Aubrey and AT&T for their support in securing the donation our students, their assistance and many years of partnership,” said Beverly Parker, Director of Workforce Training, Adult Education and Continuing Education.
