SUSLA Wins Shreveport Green Tree Award
麻豆原创 at Shreveport (SUSLA) is the recipient of the Shreveport Green Tree Award, an award given in conjunction with the celebration of Arbor Day, designated to encourage the planting and maintenance of trees.
SUSLA was presented with the Tree Award at Shreveport Green’s annual Arbor Day Celebration on January 14, which included a proclamation from the City of Shreveport, information on the history of Arbor Day, the awarding of Tree Awards and a Tree Fair showcasing green activities and information. SUSLA was the only university recognized for attention to detail, utilization and maintenance of canopy trees.
“We are delighted to be recognized for our contributions to the environment,” noted Executive Associate to the Chancellor Dr. Melva Williams. “In addition to the added beauty that our canopy trees bring to the campus, we are proud to be able to contribute to our communities’ ecological and respiratory health, among other benefits.”
As a Tree Award recipient, SUSLA will receive a tree from Garrison’s Nursery to be placed on campus as an addition to the existing canopy tree landscape.
